About Marion Vinot
Although I sometimes wish to be able to paint what I see, the spontaneity and accident are the key-notes in my painting, both calling my imagination to work an image as pleasing as possible and in accordance to the mood of the moment.
The origin of my paintings themes and arrangements do not lay in me, but rather seem to come from elsewhere. In their becoming I sense an intimate and playful guiding force I let myself participate with. I find that by allowing this process of co-creation to take place, the development of the artwork does not only become my expression, but demonstrates an interplay between essence, self and matter.
Painting is a way for me to be in tune with the present moment, that is, a state of oneness and its magic.
Of painting I would simply say that it is an inside view of the hidden self, awakening intimate secrets in the painter as well as in the viewer.
My daughter Vera Vinot is also an artist and you can view her work here.
